Softball Gryphs finish season by splitting doubleheaders

TORONTO – The Guelph Gryphons split a pair of doubleheaders on the Thanksgiving weekend to complete their Ontario Intercollegiate Women’s Fastpitch Association season.

Friday, the Gryphs split a pair of games with the Ryerson Rams at Herndon Park as Ryerson won the opener 5-2 and Guelph took the nightcap 4-2 to put an end to a seven-game losing streak.

Saturday, the Gryphs split with the Toronto Varsity Blues at Dieppe Park. Guelph won the first game 5-4, but lost the second 14-2.

The results leave the Gryphs at 6-14 for the season, good for ninth place. Top eight qualify for next weekend’s championship tournament at Waterloo.
