Guelph Royals blanked by Banat in KDSL play

KITCHENER — Guelph Royals suffered their third consecutive 4-0 setback as they were blanked by Banat on Banat’s field in Kitchener and District Soccer League play Sunday.

Brandon Pereira, Graham Marks, Nemanja Simeunovic and Sergiu Anton scored for Banat.

Polish Eagles Red Kitchener lead the Premier Division at 4-0-1 and are followed by Banat at 3-0-1, Stratford City at 3-1-0, Supersonics at 2-1-0, Owen Sound United and FC Berlin both at 1-2-0 and Riverside FC and the Royals both at 0-4-0.

Next game for the Royals is Sunday when the Royals are to host Stratford City at the Guelph Lake Sports Fields at 7 p.m.

 

Rockwood FC U21 women edge Burlington

ROCKWOOD – Rockwood FC slipped by the Burlington Bayhawks 3-2 in Ontario Women’s Soccer League Under 21 play Sunday at the Drexler Sports Fields.

Sarah Brown had two goals for Rockwood while Maddison Lawson scored the other goal.

Rebekah Lee and Brianna Demeris had the goals for Burlington.

 

HEADS United U21 women edge Flamborough Dundas

FLAMBOROUGH – HEADS United nipped Flamborough Dundas 3-2 in Ontario Women’s Soccer League Under 21 play Friday at the Joe Sams Leisureplex.

Scoring for HEADS were Sara Haddow, Orly Ferris and Keira Pherson.

Hailey MacDougall and Rowan Fama had a goal apiece for Flamborough Dundas.
