SAULT STE. MARIE – The St. James Lions opened the OFSAA provincial high school AA boys’ basketball championship tournament with a 55-50 loss in overtime to the Timmins Blues Monday.

With the loss, the 10th-ranked Lions move on to play the fifth-ranked St. Francis Phoenix of St. Catharines Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
Win or lose that game, the Lions will play again Tuesday at 8 p.m. If they beat St. Francis, they’ll play in the championship round quarter-finals and if they lose they’ll be in the consolation round quarter-finals.
