St. James volleyball girls seeded 12th at OFSAA

GUELPH – The St. James Lions have been seeded 12th for next week’s OFSAA provincial AA girls’ volleyball championship tournament at Belleville.

Top seeds are the Riverside Rebels of Windsor while the Corpus Christi Longhorns of Burlington are seeded second and Franco-Cite Falcons of Ottawa are seeded third.

St. James is in a pool with Corpus Christi, fifth-seed Father Michael McGivney Magic of Markham, 15th-seed Silverthorn Spartans of Etobicoke and 18th-seed Kingsville Cavaliers.

Monday, the Lions are to play Father McGivney at 12 noon and Kingsville at 3 p.m. Tuesday, they’re to play Corpus Christie at 8:30 a.m. and Silverthorn at 11:30 a.m.

Top two in each pool advance to Tuesday’s championship quarter-finals while the third- and fourth-place finishers in each pool move into Tuesday’s consolation quarter-finals.

The playoffs are to continue Wednesday with consolation semifinals at 9 a.m., championship semifinals at 11 a.m., consolation final at 1 p.m., bronze-medal game at 3 p.m. and gold-medal match at 5 p.m.
