Third consecutive shutout recorded by Guelph Oaks

MISSISSAUGA – The Guelph Oaks struck for a 3-0 victory over AC Soccer Diavoli in Ontario Soccer League Regional South play Sunday night at Meadowvale Park.

Andrew Chung, Andrew Campbell and Maximillian Raab scored a goal apiece for the Oaks.

The game was the third consecutive shutout for the Oaks who had edged JJD Sports 1-0 July 14 and battled Mississauga Croatia to a scoreless draw July 27.

The Oaks lead the nine-team league at 9-1-3 and are followed by Hrvat St. Catharines at 8-2-0 and Mississauga Croatia at 5-1-3. AC Soccer Diavoli’s at 1-7-0 and JJD Sports is at 2-7-2.

The Oaks have three league games left on their schedule as they’re to play Supernova (2-6-1) at Mississauga’s Falling Brook Park Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. and have to reschedule games against BAS (3-5-0) at home and Mustang FC (4-4-1) at Milton.

The locals are also to play Peniche CC (5-3-2 in Regional Central) in Frank Docherty Cup quarter-final play Tuesday at Toronto’s Earlscourt Park. Game time is 9 p.m.
