Varsity Reds remain undefeated in girls’ hockey

MOUNT FOREST – The Norwell Varsity Reds of Palmerston remained undefeated as they won three times Thursday in the District 4 high school girls’ hockey meet at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex.

Norwell defeated the Wellington Heights Wolverines of Mount Forest 3-1 and the Centre Dufferin Royals of Shelburne and Erin Raiders by identical 6-1 scores.

The Varsity Reds lead the five-team league with five wins in five outings. Wellington Heights is second at 3-2-0 and they’re followed by the Westside Thunder of Orangeville at 2-1-0, Erin at 1-5-0 and Centre Dufferin at 0-3-.

Leah Herrfort struck for a pair of goals for Norwell while Chloe Kaye also scored.

Addison Fisher had the goal for Wellington Heights.

 

Erin 7 Centre Dufferin 1

Morgan Sadler connected for five goals for Erin while single goals were netted by Riley Miller and Charlotte Sawicki.

Autumn Bestward had the lone goal for Centre Dufferin.
