Varsity Reds skate away with lead in girls’ hockey

ERIN – The Norwell Varsity Reds stretched their lead atop the District 4 high school girls’ hockey league with two wins and a tie Thursday as the teams gathered at Centre 2000 for regular season play.

The Varsity Royals defeated the Centre Dufferin Royals 6-0 and Westside Thunder 2-0 and tied the Erin Raiders 2-2.

Norwell leads the league at 7-0-1 and they’re followed by the Erin Raiders at 3-5-1, Wellington Heights Wolverines at 3-2-0, Westside Thunder at 3-3-0 and Centre Dufferin at 0-6-0.

Morgan Sadler scored twice for Erin while Ashley Baliva netted the other goal.

 

Norwell 6 Centre Dufferin 0

Rylynn Sinclair 2 scored twice for Norwell while single goals were scored by Leah Herrfort, Mary Mackenzie, Carley Crispin and Presley Brooking.

 

Erin 4 Centre Dufferin 0

Norwell 2 Westside 0

Rylynn Sinclair and Leah Herrfort had a goal apiece for Norwell.

 

Westside 3 Centre Dufferin 1

Westside received single goals from Miranda Wheeler, Madison Ouellette and Madison Mudgridge.

Morgan Bennington had the lone goal for Centre Dufferin.

 

Norwell 2 Erin 2

Leah Herrfort and Rylynn Sinclair hit for single goals for Norwell.

Morgan Sadler and Jessica Hyder had the goals for Erin.
