Wellington Heights keeps share of first in senior hoops

ERIN – The Wellington Heights Wolverines of Mount Forest kept their share of top spot in the District 4 high schools senior girls’ basketball league with a 41-16 victory over the Erin Raiders Monday.

Dannika Bauman led Wellington Heights with 10 points while Mackenna Iles and Mikaela Dagelinckx collected nine apiece.

Mackenzie Collings had nine for Erin.

Wellington Heights and the Emmanuel Christian Eagles are tied for first at 8-1 with one game to go in the regular season. If they finish in a tie, Wellington Heights will win the tiebreaker due to a 12-point win over Emmanuel Christian Oct. 4. The Eagles beat the Wolverines by 11 points Oct. 23.

Thursday at 4 p.m., the Wolverines are to host the Westside Thunder (2-7) and the Eagles are to play at Erin (2-7).
