White’s third win helps Whistle Bear sweep victories

GUELPH – Kayden White of Whistle Bear recorded his third victory of the Tee-It-Up Junior Golf Tour Wednesday when he posted the low score of even-par 71 at the Guelph Lakes Golf and Country Club.

The tournament was the fifth stop on the tour.

Zachary Burt of Whistle Bear was three shots behind at 74 while Hunter Baird of Whistle Bear and Nolan Wilson of Galt Country Club tied for third at 6-under 77.

Rounding out the top 10 in the category were Andreas Diogenous of Whistle Bear at 78, Aiden Shah of Westmount Golf & Country Club, Carter Roung of Whistle Bear and Liam Schweitzer of Dundee at 79, Cameron Reed of Whistle Bear at 80 and Graem Costigan of Whistle Bear and Galt Country Club at 81.

White had shared the round 4 win at Springfield Golf & Country Club with Wilson and won the opening round at the Cambridge Golf Club.

Zach Hart of Whistle Bear scored his third junior boys’ win of the season when he took the class Wednesday with a round of 75. He had shared class wins in previous rounds at Cambridge Golf Club and the Oaks of St. George Golf @ Country Club.

Dylan Jamieson of Cutten Fields was second Wednesday at 76 and was followed by Jack Deighan of Galt Country Club and Quinn Anderson of Cutten Fields at 77, Brandon Logan of Cayuga Golf Course, Matt Sommerville of Whistle Bear and Matthew Onik of Victoria Park East at 78, Carter MacKay of Galt Country Club at 79, Aidan McVittie of Victoria Park East and Valley at 80 and Jacob Smith of Brantford Golf & Country Club and Jordan Prior of Springfield at 81.

Kyra Vandervoort made it a Whistle Bear sweep of the class wins when she took the junior girls’ category with a round of 82 for her first Tee-It-Up victory of the season.

Arrington Bard of Guelph Lakes Golf & Country Club, three-time winner on the tour this year, was runner-up at 85 while Reese VanMackelberg of Whistle Bear was third at 87. Peyton Costabile of Whistle Bear was fourth at 92 while Victoria Gates of Cambridge Golf Club and Galt Country Club shot 93, Olivia Sargla of Whistle Bear shot 94 and Kristen Butterfield of Cambridge Golf Club and Oaks of St. George shot 95.

The tour’s final event of the season is set for Aug. 17 at Galt Country Club.
