Team and individual titles for Falcons in CWOSSA golf

LISTOWEL – The Centre Wellington Falcons captured both the team and individual open class titles at the CWOSSA high school boys’ golf championship tournament Wednesday at the Listowel Golf Club.

Centre Wellington won the team title with a score of 17-over par. Three lowest scores on each four-player team counted toward the team score.

For the Falcons, Zachary Burt was one-under, Tyler May was five-over, Clayton Duchesne was 13-over and Trent Collins was 15-over.

Bluevale was second in the team standings at 23-over while St. Benedict was third at 25-over.

Burt won the individual open class title with his round of one-under as he was the only player in the field under par.

Isiah Katsube of Elmira was second at even par and Nathaniel Gray Lamont of Guelph CVI was third at one-over.

Landon Young of GCVI, Aiden Shah of Bluevale and Jeremy Elliott of Sacred Heart each shot the low score in the high school class’s individual competition with rounds of four-over.

Top finishers advance to the OFSAA boys’ championship tournament slated for Oct. 16 and 17 at the Kingsville Golf and Country Club.
