Falcons, Crusaders win to finish tied in senior soccer

FERGUS — The Centre Wellington Falcons and Lourdes Crusaders remained tied for sixth in the District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball league standings as both posted wins Wednesday on the final day of the league’s regular season.

The Falcons defeated the St. James Lions 7-2 while the Crusaders edged the Ross Royals 2-1.

Both Centre Wellington and Lourdes finished the regular season with 2-3-2 records.

The quarter-finals are set for Tuesday.

 

Centre Wellington 7 St. James 2

Johnny Barclay fired home a hat trick for Centre Wellington while single goals were added by Shannahan, Vanderstoep, Vrins and Nguyen.

Yarek Mataiz had a pair of goals for St. James.

 

Lourdes 2 Ross 1

Noah Gabrahanes and Matteo Ricci scored the goals for Lourdes.

Axel Koenig-Parris had the goal for Ross.
