Another shutout victory for Gaels soccer girls

GUELPH – The Guelph CVI Green Gaels struck for their fourth shutout of the District 10 high school girls’ soccer season as they blanked the Lourdes Crusaders 3-0 Tuesday.

Ryley Wheelhouse was credited with the shutout while Jasmine Hasmatali scored two of the goals and Amy Pike scored the other one.

Heading into the final day of the league’s regular season Thursday, the second-place Gaels have surrendered a league-low two goals.

Ross Royals lead at 5-0-0 and are followed by the Gaels at 4-1-0, Bishop Macdonell Celtics and St. James Lions at 3-2-0, Centennial Spartans and Centre Wellington Falcons at 2-3-0, Orangeville Bears at 1-4-0 and Lourdes at 0-5-0.

Maddy MacNaughton scored Centennial’s goal while Jessamy Crichton and Hayley Sands shared the shutout.
