Bears, Spartans remain tied for second in senior hoops
GUELPH – The Orangeville Bears and Centennial Spartans remained in a tie for second place in the District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball league as both recorded wins Thursday.
Orangeville’s at 6-2 and has a game in hand over Centennial as the Spartans are at 6-3. Bishop Macdonell Celtics lead at 9-0 while the St. James Lions are fourth at 5-3.
Thursday, Orangeville defeated the Ross Royals 43-29 while Centennial downed the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 27-19.

Alicia Bowering led all scorers with 13 points for Orangeville.
Sarah Hopkins had nine for Ross.
Centennial 27 Guelph CVI 19
Amy Gray collected eight points for Centennial.
Cassidy Andrews had 12 for GCVI.

Guelph CVI 47 Centennial 20
Olga Llander, Alisa Litchfield and Jawanden each had 12 points for GCVI.
Miren Oliver collected six for Centennial.
Orangeville 31 Ross 17
Victoria Tesar hit for 11 points to lead Orangeville while Emily Franz and Kendal MacGregor netted four apiece.
Koby Commandant and Emma Capper each scored four for Ross.
