Bears, Varsity Reds battle to draw in boys’ hockey

PALMERSTON – The Orangeville Bears and Norwell Varsity Reds battled to a 4-4 standoff Wednesday in District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey play at the Palmerston arena.

Andy Whitton had a pair of goals for Orangeville while single goals were added by Evan Doertler and Robbie Williams.

Will Dennison tallied twice for host Norwell while Owen Troyer and Ben MacRobbie also scored.

Norwell is third in the league standings at 4-1-1-0 while Orangeville is fourth at 3-2-1-1.


Centre Wellington 5 Centre Dufferin 1

Owen Williams, Jack McDonald, Ethan Meyer, Jarrett Anderson and Cole Bauman each had a single goal for Centre Wellington. McDonald and Bauman each had two assists while Meyer had one.

Luke Dunmore scored for Centre Dufferin while Dustin Bell picked up an assist on the play.

Centre Wellington leads the league at 6-1-0-1, but the Falcons have played two more games than the runner-up Ross Royals (5-1-0-0). Centre Dufferin is sixth at 2-4-0-0.
