Bishop Mac climbs into tie for second in senior volleyball

GUELPH – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics moved into a tie for second place in the District 10 high school senior girls’ volleyball league standings as they swept the Centre Wellington Falcons 3-0.

The Celtics won 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.

That result combined with a surprise by the Orangeville Bears who defeated the Ross Royals 3-1 left Bishop Mac and Ross deadlocked for second with 12 points apiece. However, Ross does have a game in hand.

Defending champion Guelph CVI Green Gaels lead at 9-0 while Ross is at 6-3 and Bishop Mac’s at 6-4. Orangeville follows at 5-4 while Centennial Spartans are at 4-4, St. James Lions at 4-5 and both Centre Wellington and Lourdes Crusaders are at 1-8.
