Bishop Mac slips by Orangeville in boys’ hockey

ORANGEVILLE – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics wrapped up their District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey league’s regular season with a 4-3 victory over the Orangeville Bears Monday at Orangeville’s Tony Rose arena.

The win lifts the Celtics into second in the league at 8-2-0-0. They’re one point behind the Centre Wellington Falcons (8-1-1-0) and two up on Orangeville (7-2-0-0) who have a game against the Wellington Heights Wolverines (3-6-0-0) to play.

Scoring details from Monday’s game were not reported.


Norwell 5 Ross 4

Isaiah Thornback had a hat trick for Norwell while Will Black and Ian Jamieson also scored.

Calvin Fogler had two goals and an assist for Ross while Connor Snedden and Adam Nightingale each added a goal.


Westside 3 Wellington Heights 0

Brake, Rahn and Chung scored for Westside while Coates had two assists and Ritchie had one. Lowrie picked up the shutout.
