Blitz to open quarter-final series at Stratford Saturday

ERIN – The Erin Blitz are to open their best-of-five WOSHL quarter-final playoff series with the Stratford Fighting Irish Saturday afternoon at Stratford’s Allman arena.

Game time is 4:30 p.m.

Second game of the series is scheduled for Sunday at 7:15 p.m. at Erin’s Centre 2000 arena.

Other games in the series are slated for March 11 at Stratford at 4:30 p.m., March 12 at Erin at 6 p.m. and March 15 at Stratford at 8:05 p.m. The March 12 and 15 games will be played only if they’re necessary.

The Fighting Irish won both regular-season games with the Blitz as they were victorious 8-0 at Stratford Nov. 12 and 5-2 at Erin Dec. 10.

The Blitz went 7-4-0-1 after the second loss to Stratford while the Fighting Irish went 8-4-0-1.

Erin finished sixth at the completion of the regular season with a 9-13-0-2 record, 16 points behind the third-place Fighting Irish (18-6-0-0).
