Bostad victorious again in Stroke & Stride
GUELPH – Billy Bostad of Guelph made it two wins in as many outings in the Multisport Stroke and Stride series when he took Wednesday’s Speedo Foods Summer Stroke & Stride at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area.
Bostad had earlier won the adult category at the Speedo Foods Stroke and Stride Series Opener June 7 at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area.
Wednesday, Bostad won the adult race that featured a 1,500-metre swim and 5-kilometre run in 44 minutes and five seconds. Darby Gielewski of Kitchener was second at 46:02.4 and Nina Sieh of Mississauga was third, the top female finisher, in 48:54.9. Bostad won the June race in 43:38.1.
Graham Dunn of Waterloo placed fourth in 50:13.2 and Chris Richmond of Guelph was fifth in 53:01.7. Second female, sixth overall, was Michele Studhaulter of Waterloo in 54:39.5
Jackson Laundry of Guelph took the 750m/5km event in 28:00.1 while Alexander Hinton of Guelph was second in 28:19.6 and Benjamin Rudson of Nanaimo was third in 29:56.1. Top female finisher was Dominika Jamnicky of Guelph, eighth overall in 33:16.3. The class featured 36 entries with several from either the LPC Triathlon Club or the Guelph Triathlon Project.
Patrick Morgan of Hamilton won the 500m/4km race in 25:06.5 while Madeline Ongena of Elora, the top female finisher, was second in 25:13.9.
Sage Sulentic of Dundas took the 300m.3km race in 18:39.5 while Reegan Chinchilla of Copetown was second, top female finisher, in 19:29.0.
Dylan Espinola of Burlington was victorious in the 300m/3km race in 12:37.2. Kai Sulentic of Dundas was second in 13:04.0 while top female finisher was Alice Parsons of Guelph, sixth overall in 15:31.0.
William Parsons of Guelph won the 100m/1km race in 8:35.6.
Mathilda Bechard won the 50m/500m event in 4:25.1.
Xavier Rochon won the 25m/250m race in 13:11.
There are two events left on the schedule for the series’ inaugural season – the Speedo Foods Stroke & Stride Gulliver’s Lake at Gulliver’s Lake Aug. 2 and the Speedo Foods Stroke & Stride Series Finale at Gulliver’s Lake Sept. 6.
