Celtics, Bears keep pace with one another in senior hoops
GUELPH – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics and Orangeville Bears remained undefeated in District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball as both posted wins Tuesday.
Bishop Mac downed the Lourdes Crusaders 54-12 while Orangeville defeated the Ross Royals 50-29 as both recorded their third wins in as many league outings this season.

Tyla Timlock and Maja Gadzinska connected for 15 points apiece for Bishop Mac.
Ronette Eimar collected four points for Lourdes while Sami Romero had three.
Orangeville 50 Ross 29
Alicia Bowering netted 18 points for Orangeville.
Payton Rickers led Ross with eight.
Centennial 38 Guelph CVI 28
Jessica Zhu had 12 points for Centennial while Amy Gray contributed 10.
Tina Qiu’s 12 points led GCVI while Cassidy Andrews chipped in with 10.
St. James 60 Centre Wellington 21
Amanda Lago and Elivia Garbuio each had 14 points for St. James.
Josie Hayward hit for 12 for St. James.
Centennial 39 Guelph CVI 37
M. Oliver led Centennial with 16 points while Maddie Patrick collected 13.
Eve Elford gathered 14 for GCVI while Olga Llander had nine and Taya Thater added seven.
Orangeville 45 Ross 28
Emilie Franz had 12 points for Orangeville while Victoria Tesar and E. MacDonald had eight points apiece.
Emma Capper topped the scoring list for Ross with seven points while B. Sweeney had six.
