Celtics climb out of senior boys’ volleyball cellar

GUELPH – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics climbed out of the basement of the District 10 high school senior boys’ volleyball league standings Tuesday when they outlasted the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 3-2.

The win lifted the Celtics to 2-4, good for fourth place in the six-team league.

GCVI fell to 1-5 and are tied with the Centre Wellington Falcons.

Tuesday, the Celtics won 19-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-18, 15-7.

The Spartans remained unbeaten with the win.

They won three close sets 25-22, 27-25, 25-20.

Junior Boys’ Volleyball

Centennial 3 Centre Wellington 0

The Spartans won 25-18, 25-21, 25-20.

Orangeville 3 Lourdes 0

The Bears won 25-11, 25-21, 25-23.
