Celtics, Gaels, Lions remain tied in soccer standings
GUELPH – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics, Guelph CVI Green Gaels and St. James Lions each entered Thursday’s games in the District 10 high school girls’ soccer league tied.
They were still tied following their games as each scored victories to move to 3-1-0. The idle Ross Royals are the lone unbeaten team in the league at 3-0-0 while the Centre Wellington Falcons, Centennial Spartans and Orangeville Bears are each at 1-3-0 and the Lourdes Crusaders are at 0-3-0.
Bishop Macdonell 5 Orangeville 0
Georgia Merriman and Claire Wyville scored twice apiece for Bishop Mac while Dominica Szal had the other goal.
Guelph CVI 1 Centre Wellington 0
Jasmine Hasmatali hit for the only goal of the game.
St. James 8 Centennial 0
Caitlan Krasinski, Lily Campbell and Taite Sinkeldam netted two goals apiece for St. James while Sarah Verspagen and Olivia Brown also scored. Hallie Babic and Isabella Chianta shared the shutout.
