Celtics hockey boys shut down Westside to remain unbeaten

ORANGEVILLE – Ben Macdonald stopped all shots sent his way to record the shutout as the Bishop Macdonell Celtics blanked the Westside Thunder 4-0 in District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey play Tuesday at the Alder Street arena.

Jake Fries, Matt Maldinado, Lucas Wells and Trent DiCiccio scored a goal apiece while Wells assisted on two of the goals. Getting one assist apiece were Hayden Finoro, Maldinado, Jeremy Lightbourne and Power.

The win was the fourth in as many league outings for Bishop Mac.

Jackson Steele struck for two goals and two assists for GCVI while Alec MacIntyre had two goals and an assist and Brett Reynolds had a goal and two assists. Owen Stemerdink picked up a goal and an assist while Jacob Elmes and Blake Forester scored once each. Noah Neumann and Rhys Collins each had two assists and Chris Stewart had one assist.

Calvin Fogler connected for a pair of goals for Ross and Adam Nightingale and Chris Cabeldu each had a goal and an assist. Noah Van Dam also scored while Jackson Wahl had two assists and Patrick Nyman and DalBello had one each.
