Celtics pick up their first win of baseball season

GUELPH – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics collected their first win of the District 4/10 high school baseball season when they blanked the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 12-0 Monday at Pearson Park.

Evan Klein picked up the win on the mound for Bishop Mac as he allowed one hit in his four innings and had three strikeouts. Liam Lewis had two strikeouts in his inning of work.

Hayden Wesseling went 2-for-3 at the plate with one of the hits being a double and he also drove in two runs. Klein and Caden Young each knocked in a run with a triple.

Owen McKeown had a strikeout in an inning of relief for GCVI while Oscar Krell had two strikeouts in three innings. Krell also went 1-for-2 at bat.
