
Celtics seniors get first win in D10 basketball
GUELPH – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics claimed their first win of the District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball season Thursday when they slipped by the St. James Lions 32-31 at Bishop Mac.
M. Gazzola struck for eight points for the Celtics while H. Clark added seven.
A. Balmelero had 14 for St. James and A. Glaab chipped in with four.
Centennial 41 Ross 25
Jenna Davey hit for 15 points to lead Centennial while Kayla Hooper had 10.
Ailani Curvan led Ross with 11.
Junior Girls
Orangeville 57 Guelph CVI 36
K. Firth netted 27 points to power Orangeville while A. Corrigale added 15.
G. Rankin collected 12 for GCVI and A. Ostrander followed with eight.
Ross 43 Centennial 26
Ross received 13 points from Alex Blashuk and 12 from Sam Tesfit.
Hayle McMillian had 12 for Centennial and Taliah Pellizzari contributed four.
