
Centennial stays unbeaten in D10 baseball
GUELPH – The Centennial Spartans remained undefeated in District 10 high school baseball play Friday as they dropped the Bishop Macdonell Celtics 8-2 at Pearson Park.
Each team has one game left to play on its regular-season schedule and are scheduled to play either Monday or Tuesday at Pearson Park.
Centennial leads the standings at 4-0 while the Ross Royals are second at 3-1. Bishop Macdonell and the St. James Lions are both at 2-2 while the Lourdes Crusaders are at 1-3 and the Guelph CVI Green Gaels are at 0-4.
In games Thursday at Pearson Park, Ross blanked Lourdes 8-0 and Centennial tripled St. James 9-3.
Monday, Ross is to play Bishop Mac at 1 p.m. while Lourdes and St. James are to tangle at 3:30 p.m.
The regular season is to wrap up Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. game between GCVI and Centennial.
Playoffs are to start with Thursday’s quarter-finals with games at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Pearson Park.
Quarter-final winners are to advance to the semifinals that are slated for Oct. 11 while the final is to go Oct. 13.
