Centennial’s late goal leads to senior soccer victory

GUELPH – A goal with about five minutes to go in the game gave the Centennial Spartans a 2-1 victory over the Orangeville Bears in a wind-blown District 10 high school senior boys’ soccer match Thursday at Centennial.

Timoor Beg’s second goal of the game came approximately two minutes after Orangeville’s Nathan Rocha had tied the score.

Beg had scored the only goal of the first half as he jumped all over an Orangeville miscue.

W. Heddokheel, K. Ladhani and M. Burgess collected single goals for GCVI.

A. Gebreslassie scored for Lourdes.

Centennial 6 Orangeville 2

Centennial received two goals from Sam Kim and one each from Gorka Alberdi, Marcus Kycia, Deacon Key and Marcus Taggart.

Kultrict Amanety netted both goals for Orangeville.
