Centre Dufferin back in tie atop senior hoops loop

SHELBURNE – The Centre Dufferin Royals regained a share of first place in the District 4 high school senior girls’ basketball league with Monday’s 42-19 win over the Wellington Heights Wolverines.

The result leaves Centre Dufferin and the Westside Thunder tied atop the league with 4-1 records. Erin is third at 3-3 while Emmanuel Christian is at 2-2, Wellington Heights is at 2-3 and Norwell is at 0-5.

The Royals and Thunder are to meet Oct. 24 at Orangeville.

Shannon Bury led Centre Dufferin with 23 points Monday while Taylor McLellan had five for Wellington Heights.

 

Erin 36 Norwell 17

Taylor Paquette led Erin with 16 points while Kyla Warren had 10.

Norwell received six from Kelsey Walker and five from Julia Albrecht.

Centre Dufferin 30 Wellington Heights 14

Jackson led Centre Dufferin with six points and Alexis Leid had five.

Sydney Iles collected seven for Wellington Heights.
