HILLSBURGH – The Centre Dufferin Royals continued their surprising playoff run as they captured the District 4 high school senior boys’ soccer title with a 3-2 victory over the Erin Raiders Wednesday at Barbour Field.

Centre Dufferin had finished the regular season in fourth place in the six-team league at 4-4-2 while Erin was second at 7-1-2. Erin had won one of the two regular-season meetings with the Royals 2-0 at Centre Dufferin while the other one at Barbour Field had finished in a 1-1 stalemate.

The Royals also ousted the first-place Westside Thunder (8-0-2) in Monday’s semifinals.
