Centre Dufferin wraps up first in D4 senior hoops

ORANGEVILLE – The Centre Dufferin Royals secured a first-place finish in the District 4 high school senior girls’ basketball league with a pair of victories Monday as all teams in the league gathered at Westside for the second of two regular-season mini tournaments.

The Royals are looking for their first league title since 2009.

Monday, the Royals defeated the Emmanuel Christian Eagles 34-7 and Erin Raiders 38-12 to finish an unbeaten regular season.

The league’s entire playoffs are set for next Monday at Centre Dufferin.

Semifinals are to go at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. while the consolation final is slated for 1 p.m. and the championship match for 2:30 p.m.

Erin 28 Norwell 13

Payton Bray and Maddy Eisner each had six points for Erin while Olivia Foreman added five.

Reese Miller collected five for Norwell and Teagan Campbell netted four.

 

Centre Dufferin 38 Erin 12

McLean led Centre Dufferin with nine points while Foulger and Jackson had seven apiece.

Maddy Eisner sank eight for Erin.

 

Westside 41 Norwell 10
