Centre Wellington hockey girls begin their season with win

GUELPH – The Centre Wellington Falcons slipped by the Ross Royals 2-1 in District 10 high school girls’ hockey play Thursday at the Victoria Road arena.

Sydney Healey and Olivia MacMillan netted single goals for Centre Wellington while Cecilie Procter and Tianna Dietrich picked up assists.

Avery Lomax scored for Ross with help from Courtney Phillips and Claire Kelterborn.

The game was the first in league play this season for the Falcons and the second for Ross.

Rachael Douglas connected for a pair of goals for Centennial while Kiara Lylyk had the other one.
