Chuck Miller Classic tournament this weekend

GUELPH – A total of 40 minor lacrosse teams are to compete in this weekend’s Chuck Miller Classic tournament in Guelph.

The tournament features five age groups (tyke, novice, peewee, bantam, midget) with eight teams in each and games are to be played at the West End arena and Centennial arena.

Each age group will have two four-team divisions for pool play on Friday and Saturday. First-place finisher in each pool play in their age group’s gold-medal match while the second-place teams are to battle in the bronze-medal matches. All of the medal games are to be played Sunday.

The host Guelph Minor Lacrosse Association Regals are to be represented with a team in each division except midget.

The Arthur Aces have teams in tyke, bantam and midget.

Other teams in the tournament are to represent Barrie, Brantford, Burlington, Cambridge, Clarington, Halton Hills, Kingston, London, Nepean, Oakville, Orangeville, Oshawa, Pelham, Six Nations, St. Catharines, Stayner, Stouffville and Uxbridge.

Play is to start Friday at 2 p.m.
