Creeks get bats working to dump Brantford

BRANTFORD – The Guelph Silvercreeks struck for 16 hits as they clouted the Brantford Red Sox 18-2 in Central Ontario junior baseball league play at Brantford’s Arnold Anderson Stadium.

The game was halted after seven innings by the league’s mercy rule.

Graham Wilmot and Adam Perry connected for three hits apiece while Noah Roberts, Chris Procopio and Brodey Hlushko each had two hits.

Jayce Mackenzie picked up the win as he tossed five innings and didn’t allow an earned run.

It was the second win in as many outings for the Creeks as they opened with a 9-5 victory over the Milton Red Sox at Milton May 6.

The Creeks are scheduled to host the Hamilton Junior Cardinals at Hastings Stadium Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
