
Creeks take a pair from Welland Junior Jackfish
GUELPH – The Guelph Silvercreeks swept both ends of their Intercounty Baseball Association U22 doubleheader with the Welland Junior Jackfish Sunday at Hastings Stadium.
The Creeks reached double digits in each game as they won 7-3 and 10-4.

Ryan Kush picked up the win in the opening game as he held Welland scoreless in four innings. He surrendered three hits and had four strikeouts.
Arthur Kowara drove in three runs with a homer and two singles while Ashton Patterson hit two singles, scored two runs and stole three bases. Alex Camilo had a single, drove in a run and scored a run.
Starter Jason Boulanger was the winner in the nightcap as he held Welland scoreless and to one hit in his four innings of work. He had three strikeouts. Zach Ashworth kept the Junior Jackfish hitless and scoreless in his stint of 1 1/3 innings.
Kush hit a triple and two singles, scored two runs and drove in one to lead at the plate. Owen Ellis hit a double and a single, scored a run and had an RBI while Eric Blamauer hit a single, scored a run, drove in a run and stole a base. Jackson Wahl hit a single, scored two runs and had two stolen bases.
The Creeks lead the eight-team league at 7-1-1 while Welland is seventh at 1-7-1.
The Creeks are to host the Stratford Nationals Wednesday at Hastings Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
