Crusaders latest to be shut out by Falcons hockey girls

FERGUS – The Centre Wellington Falcons continued their stingy ways in District 10 high school girls’ hockey play Wednesday at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex.

The Falcons recorded their sixth shutout of the season as they blanked the Lourdes Crusaders 8-0.

Centre Wellington has won all eight of its league games, outscoring its opponents 43-2 in the process.

Kate Mabey and Emily Palmer scored twice each against Lourdes while single goals were added by Cecile Proctor, Sydney Healey, Tianna Dietrich, Carson Lean and Olivia MacMillan.

The Falcons lead the league at 8-0-0-0 while the Ross Royals are at 4-2-0-0, Centennial Spartans are at 4-3-0-0, Lourdes is at 3-4-0-0, Guelph CVI Green Gaels are at 2-6-0-0 and St. James Lions are at 0-6-0-0.

Ross and Centennial are to clash Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Victoria Road arena.
