Crusaders score early, hang on for win over Lions

GUELPH – The Lourdes Crusaders connected for a pair of goals in the first period and made them hold up for a 2-1 victory over the St. James Lions in District 10 high school girls’ hockey play at the Victoria Road arena.

St. James scored its goal late in the second period.

Keagan Hayne and Ciara Hayne had the goals for the Crusaders while Angeline Gemin had an assist.

Maddie Lawson had an unassisted goal for the Lions.

The result leaves Lourdes at 3-3-0-0 and St. James at 1-3-0-0.
