D10 football quarterfinals at Guelph Lake Sports Fields
GUELPH – The location of Friday’s District 10 high school football playoff games has already been changed to Guelph Lake Sports Fields.
Friday’s quarterfinals were originally scheduled to be played at Eastview Park, but have been moved.
The Guelph Lake fields were used last week for the final tripleheader of the regular season.
This week features a pair of games with third-place Ross Royals (2-1) playing sixth-place Lourdes Crusaders (0-3) at 5 p.m. and fourth-place Bishop Macdonell Celtics (1-2) tangling with fifth-place Guelph CVI Green Gaels (1-2) at 7:30 p.m.
While there is no field designation for either game, neither will be held on Field 1 as it isn’t suitable for high school football. The endzones aren’t big enough.
Last week Fields 2 and 3 were both used, Field 2 for the first two games and Field 3 for the final one.
First-place St. James Lions (3-0) and second-place Centennial Spartans (2-1) get byes in the quarterfinals and both will host semifinals Nov. 12 – Centennial playing at 5 p.m. and St. James at 7:30 p.m. At the moment those games are scheduled to be played at Eastview Park.
Semifinal winners are to clash in the D10 final Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. Location of that game has not been decided.
The D10 championship match will be the final high school football game of the year for its combatants as the title winner will not move on to the CWOSSA playoffs.
