D4/10 field hockey final changes date and location
GUELPH – The District 4/10 girls’ field hockey championship game has been moved to Wednesday.
The Centre Dufferin Royals and Orangeville Bears were originally scheduled to battle for the league crown Monday at Centennial CVI.
However, with no Guelph team in the final, the game has been moved to Centre Dufferin District High School in Shelburne and is to be played Wednesday.
The teams gained their berths in the championship match by winning semifinal matches at Centennial Monday. Orangeville edged Centennial Spartans 1-0 while Centre Dufferin defeated the Ross Royals by an identical 1-0 score.
Centre Dufferin will be looking for its first ever D4/10 field hockey title while Orangeville will be looking for its first since winning back-to-back titles in the first two years of league play, 1983 and 1984.
Game time Wednesday is 11 a.m.
