CHICAGO – Centre Liam Hawel of the Guelph Storm was picked in the fourth round of the NHL draft by the Dallas Stars Saturday.

Hawel was the 101st player selected in this year’s draft.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound native of Kanata had three goals and 11 assists in 28 games with the Storm after being traded from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in January. In two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, Hawel has 13 goals, 30 assists and 52 penalty minutes in 131 games.

He was the fourth member of the Storm to be picked in the draft following left winger Isaac Ratcliffe (35th overall by Philadelphia), centre Nate Schnarr (75th overall by Arizona) and defenceman Dmitri Samorukov (84th overall by Edmonton).
