District 10 girls’ soccer down to its final four
GUELPH – And then there were four.
The field in the District 10 high school seniors girls’ soccer playoffs was cut to four Thursday as the St. James Lions, Ross Royals, Bishop Macdonell Celtics and Centre Wellington Falcons posted quarter-final victories.
All four advance to Tuesday’s semifinals when berths in Thursday’s final will be on the line.
Only upset in the quarter-finals came when fifth-place Centre Wellington squeezed by the fourth-place Orangeville Scarlet Bears. Orangeville had finished the regular season with nine points, one more than Centre Wellington. And Orangeville had won the regular-season meeting between the two teams 1-0 at Orangeville May 7.

Jordan Faveri had a pair of goals for second-place Ross while Maresa Bell scored the other one.
Seventh-place Lourdes received goals from Hathyna Nyguen and Maeve Nichol.
