Dunne gets it done as Rocks blank Tillsonburg
ELORA – Colin Dunne stopped all 45 shots directed his way to get a shutout victory as the Elora Rocks blanked the Tillsonburg Thunder 7-0 in Western Ontario Super Hockey League play Friday night at the Elora and District Community Centre.
The shutout was the second of the season for Dunne and he worked harder for this one than he did in a 16-0 win over the Alvinston Killer Bees Oct. 29 when he made 12 saves.

The Rocks scored three goals in the first period, two in the second and two in the third for the win.
Chad Herron scored twice for the Rocks while single goals were added by Charlie Stephens, Luke Baleshta, Matteo Condotta, Aaron Smith and Shaun Pickering. Stephens had three assists while Herron and Baleshta had two apiece and Condotta, Spencer Maccormack, Trevor Lord and Klayton Hoelscher each had one.
The Rocks outshot the Thunder 24-12 in the first period on their way to a 57-45 advantage. Andre Roy had 50 saves for the Thunder.
The win moves the Rocks to top spot in the five-team league with a 7-1-0-0 record while the Strathroy Jets are second at 6-0-0-1, Tillsonburg third at 5-3-0-0, Stratford Fighting Irish fourth at 2-5-0-1 and Alvinston fifth at 0-9-0-0.
The Rocks have a pair of games next week as they’re to host Alvinston Friday at 8:30 p.m. to complete a seven-game homestand and they’re to play at Tillsonburg next Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
