Eagles alone in fourth in senior volleyball after sweeping Royals
FERGUS – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles grabbed sole possession of fourth place in the District 4 high school senior girls’ volleyball league as they swept the Centre Dufferin Royals 3-0 Monday.
Playing on their home court, the Eagles prevailed 25-19, 25-15, 25-23 in the league’s lone game.
The win lifts Emmanuel Christian to 4-6 while Centre Dufferin remains in a tie with the Erin Raiders as both have 3-6 records.
Norwell Varsity Reds lead the league with an undefeated 8-0 mark while the Westside Thunder are second at 7-2 and Wellington Heights Wolverines third at 6-2. College Heights Huskies trail at 0-9.
League play resumes Wednesday with Erin playing at Westside and Norwell hosting Wellington Heights.
College Heights and Centre Dufferin are to tangle Thursday in Guelph.
