Eagles claim junior girls’ basketball title

FERGUS – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles of Fergus slipped by the Erin Raiders 39-34 in the District 4 high school junior girls’ basketball championship match Monday at Fergus.

Scoring leaders were not reported.

The win completes an undefeated D4 season for the Eagles who won all four of their regular-season matches.

The Raiders won a tie-breaker with the Wellington Heights Crusaders to be awarded second place. The two teams had finished with 1-3 records in the three-team league.

The Eagles advance to the CWOSSA A championship tournament Nov. 18 at Breslau’s Woodland Christian High School.
