Electric City’s early goal does in Guelph Union

PETERBOROUGH – Guelph Union surrendered a goal in the third minute of the game and that turned out to be the game’s only goal as Union was edged 1-0 by Electric City FC in League1 Ontario Women’s Premier soccer play Saturday on the Fleming College field.

Aysia King scored the goal for the hosts while Breanne Carreiro had the clean sheet in net.

Elizabeth Brenneman was in goal for Union.

The result leaves Union at 1-2-0 and Electric City at 1-2-1.

Union’s next match is to be their home opener against NDC-Ontario Friday at the Gryphon Soccer Complex. Game time is 8 p.m.

That’s to be Union’s lone regular-season game on the University of Guelph campus as the remainder of their home games are to be played at Centennial Park Bowl.
