Elora Mohawks go on seven-goal run for another win

POINT EDWARD – The Elora Mohawks broke a 2-2 tie in the first period with seven consecutive goals on their way to an 18-5 victory over the Point Edward Pacers in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Saturday night at the Point Edward Arena.

The Mohawks led 9-2 after the first period and 15-4 after the second.

The win was the fifth victory by a margin of 10 goals or more in their eight games, all wins, this season.

Brett Harrison led the Mohawks with six goals and two assists while Sam Dramnitzke had four goals and four assists while Matt Allen had two goals and three assists. Jayden Bushey also scored twice while Jabe Verbeek, Mark McIntosh, Owen Moore and Owen Williams added single goals. Verbeek had four assists, J.J. Lavigne and Moore had three apiece, Tobias Wilson and Williams had two each and Bushey and McIntosh had one each.

Evan Turner had a hat trick for Point Edward while Brett Vince and Nathan Armstrong had one each. Konnor Adams had two assists and Vince, Hunter Santsche, Turner and Cyrus Sinopole had one apiece.

The Mohawks outshot Point Edward 67-25 and went 5-for-7 on their power play while the Pacers were held scoreless on two power plays.

While the Mohawks are at 8-0-0, Point Edward fell to 1-4-0.

The Mohawks are to host the London Blue Devils (0-6-0) Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Elora and District Community Centre.
