Elora Rocks skate by Tavistock Royals

ELORA – The Elora Rocks scored at least one goal in each period as they handed the Tavistock Royals a 4-1 setback in WOAA senior men’s hockey league play Friday night at the Elora and District Community Centre.

The Rocks had the lone goal of the first period and led 2-1 after the second.

Mark Rozak, Brendan Farrugia, Klayton Hoelscher and Sam Bilton each had a goal for the Rocks while assists went to Kris Dobinson, Rozak, Nevin Guenther, Mason Noble, Shawn Lantz and Brett Coverdale.

Mitch Facey scored late in the second period for Tavistock while assists on the goal went to Josh Munro and Geoff Killing.

The Rocks outshot Tavistock 45-43. Austin Hoegy had 42 saves to get the win in the Elora net while Mike Roefs had 41 saves for Tavistock.

The Rocks are to play the Lucknow Lancers at Lucknow Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
