Emmanuel Christian senior hoops boys return to dump Norwell

PALMERSTON – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles returned from the exam break with a 64-29 victory over the Norwell Varsity Reds in District 4 high school senior boys’ basketball play Monday.

Carter Neizen led Emmanuel Christian with 12 points, the same total collected by Norwell’s top scorer Connor McCulloch.

The game was also the final one of the regular season for the Eagles who finish at 2-4. They’re in third in the four-team league.

Norwell is fourth at 0-3 and have three games to play – two against league-leading Centre Dufferin Royals (4-0) and one against second-place Wellington Heights Wolverines (3-2).



Wellington Heights 33 Westside 31

Jack Weiser powered Wellington Heights with nine points while Kyle Lane had six.

Peter Morneau had a game-high 16 for Westside and Graydon Stoker added six.


Emmanuel Christian 48 Norwell 43

Peter Thalen connected for 14 points for Emmanuel Christian while Jared Vis netted six.

Micah Sumner had 13 for Norwell and Blake Skerritt followed with eight.
