Emmanuel Christian hits for win in soccer season opener

GUELPH – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles opened their District 4 high school girls’ soccer season Thursday with a 3-0 blanking of the Norwell Varsity Reds at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

Nicole Vandermeulen, Cayla Lodder and Olivia Vanleeuwen struck for a goal apiece for Emmanuel Christian.

Tessa Vanveen picked up the shutout.

The loss was the second in as many league outings for Norwell.
