
Erin Blitz downed by Stratford Fighting Irish
ERIN – The Erin Blitz surrendered three goals in the second period as they suffered a 5-2 loss to the Stratford Fighting Irish in WOSHL play Saturday night at the Centre 2000 arena.
The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the first period before Stratford struck for their second-period goals.

Max Lightfoot and Jacob Miller had a goal apiece for the Blitz while Liam Galton assisted on both goals. Lightfoot and Jeff White each had an assist.
Brad Krysko had two goals and an assist for Stratford while Sebastien Nogueira, Branden Speziale and Cameron Stokes also scored. Ray Robbins set up two of the goals while single assists were awarded to Colin Martin, Mitch Casey, Steven DeGroot, Speziale and Stokes.
Stratford outshot Erin 54-37 including a 20-9 advantage in the second period.
Jacob Tugnutt had 49 saves for the Blitz while Darren Smith had 35 saves for the Fighting Irish.
The result leaves the Blitz tied with the Delhi Flames for ninth in the standings. Erin’s at 2-9-0-1 and has three games in hand over Delhi. The Fighting Irish are fourth at 9-2-0-0.
The Blitz are to play the Alvinston Killer Bees at Alvinston Friday at 8 p.m.
