
Erin Blitz fade in third in loss to Tillsonburg
ERIN – The Erin Blitz gave up three goals in the third period as they suffered a 6-4 loss to the Tillsonburg Thunder in WOSHL play Sunday at Erin’s Centre 2000 arena.
The Blitz, searching for their first win in their inaugural season, scored the first three goals on the game before Tillsonburg came back to tie it in the second period.

A power-play goal by Liam Silva at 7:37 of the third period put Erin ahead again, but a pair of shorthanded goals 33 seconds apart gave Tillsonburg a lead the Thunder wouldn’t yield.
Erin led 3-1 at the end of the first period and the score was tied 3-3 at the end of the second.
Jeff White, Jordan Tutt and Chris Prejet scored the first-period goals for Erin. Prejet had two assists in the game while Lucas Schott and White had one apiece.
Braden Roberts scored twice for Tillsonburg and Jack Gee, Jamie MacQueen, Kurtis Christo and Chris McGuffin scored once each. MacQueen and Chris Nauts each had two assists while Brendan Barletta, Jacob Brown, McGuffin, Gee and Andrew Tapsell had one each.
The teams had 24 shots apiece and the Blitz went 2-for-4 on their power play and they held the Thunder scoreless on three power plays.
Steven Horvat had 18 saves in the Erin net while Matt Sagrott had 20 for Tillsonburg.
Tilbury Bluebirds lead the nine-team league at 8-1-0-0 while the Elora Rocks are second at 6-1-0-1. Tillsonburg is third at 6-1-0-0 and they’re followed by the Strathroy Jets at 4-5-0-0, Plattsville Lakers at 3-6-0-0, Alvinston Killer Bees at 1-4-0-1, Delhi Flames at 2-7-0-0 and the Blitz at 0-7-0-0.
The Blitz are to host Tilbury Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Centre 2000.
