
Fading Storm edged by Owen Sound
OWEN SOUND – The Guelph Storm surrendered three goals in the third period as they were edged 4-3 by the Owen Sound Attack in Ontario Hockey League play Saturday night at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
The loss was the fifth in a row for the Storm and third to the Attack in the slump.

The Storm had scored the lone goal of the first period and led 3-1 at the end of the second, but yielded the three third-period goals on 10 shots while they fired five at the Owen Sound net in the final period.
Guelph received goals from Cooper Walker, Ben McFarlane and Cam Allen while Daniil Chayka had two assists and Michael Buchinger, Ashton Reesor, Walker and McFarlane each had one.
Scoring for Owen Sound were Nicholas Porco, Logan LeSage, Deni Goure and Colby Barlow while assists were awarded to Sam Sedley, Servac Petrovsky, Porco, Stepan Machacek and Cal Uens.
Owen Sound outshot the Storm 32-28 and went 1-for-2 on its power play while the Storm was scoreless on four power plays.
Nick Chenard had 25 saves in the Owen Sound net to get the win while Owen Bennett took the loss despite making 28 saves.
The Storm are to play the Sarnia Sting at Sarnia’s Progressive Auto Sales Arena Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and host the Flint Firebirds Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre.
